A Weekend on Land

August 31, 2020

We have worked on obtaining the correct permits to leave Bocas del Toro. We think that we have them all. Francisco has gone up our mast to check all of our rigging. Everything seems to be ready for a trip.

This was to be our last weekend in Bocas and we were planning to spend it with our friends, Jim and Laura who were house sitting in Drago on the Caribbean side of the island. The houses are set in the jungle with a good view of the sea. After traversing the crazy washed out road for 40 minutes, we arrived to a beautiful view and nice accomodations.

We had a wonderful time hiking, spotting the sloths and howler monkeys, watching the banana boats come in and out of the channel and visiting with our friends that we would be leaving in a few days.

Such a beautiful view!

A sloth in the tree right outside the house!

A beautiful private beach to enjoy!
Watching the Chiquita boats go by
So much life everywhere!
Enjoying the beach

Amigos enjoying Happy Hour

Woke up to see this outside our room. Howler monkey!

The beautiful Caribbean is calling us
We are saying goodbye to our great friends on Nilaya. For 2 1/2 years they have mentored us, traveled from Mexico with us, helped us and been great friends. Their cruising life has ended as they embark on new adventures, but ours is just beginning. Fair winds friends!
